There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Emy is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Germany. She is a fan of DRIPPIN and more particularly of Cha JunHo! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hi, I’m Emy and I’m from Germany! If you’re a DREAMIN you might know me from Twitter or Tiktok! (both @junhoverse). How and when did you enter the fandom? Well, 6 out of the 7 members went on the survival show “Produce X 101” so I knew them from there before they even debuted as DRIPPIN! After the show ended, I followed the trainees during their time as W Project 4 and JunHo during his time in X1. I already knew I would keep supporting them wherever their paths lead, so I’m happy that they got to make their debut together and Alex got added as the missing puzzle piece! What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? First of all, it’s inevitable to notice their amazing chemistry as a group and each member’s individual charms and talents. You can tell that they’ve trained together for a long time and that they’ve grown even closer after their debut, and they even said that they see their members as family rather than friends! Obviously music is an important aspect too and I personally I think that DRIPPIN have the best non-skip discography in K-Pop! Who caught your attention at first and why? Actually, it was YunSeong who caught my attention first! It was during one of the first episodes of “Produce X 101” and one of the vocal trainers asked him to sing the title song in front of the class, but he seemed really shy and I thought that was so cute that I followed him throughout the show! Who is your bias, and why? My bias is JunHo! JunHo became my bias when he was announced as a member of X1. To me personality is a huge aspect while choosing a bias and I personally think that the show didn’t really showcase his personality well but once I got to know him more I immediately fell in love with him! He is really funny and I just think his sense of humor goes really well with me. You can also tell that he is extremely nice and caring and that he treasures his members a lot! Apart from his personality, as DRIPPIN’s center he’s also really captivating on stage and I think his growth as an idol over the last 3 years is impressive. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? For title track I’d definitely say ‘Nostalgia’! It’s their debut song and the members have said that ‘Nostalgia’ describes DRIPPIN’s sound the best, so I think it’s fitting for new fans to get an introduction to their sound! For the B-side I’d recommend ‘Reach out your hands’ from their 2nd mini album. It seems to be one of the fan favorites and it’s also one of my favorite songs! Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? For JunHo if you want to learn about his personality then I’d recommend this V Live. It’s also known as his “legendary V Live” since it’s very funny and he plays around a lot so you’ll definitely laugh while watching it!
Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group? For starters, DRIPPIN have filmed two reality shows (one pre-debut, one this year) they are called “We are DRIPPIN” and “White Dream” and they’re perfect for if you want to get to know the members! Also, I’ve recently introduced the group to my friend and the first content I showed her was their mafia dance video for Villain! It’s a format that most K-Pop fans know and love, so you don’t necessarily need to know a lot about the group to enjoy it, but it’s so entertaining that you will want to know more about them after watching! Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? “Even if the stars that shine daily disappear tomorrow There’s one thing that won’t change You were the one that raised me up” - ‘Firefly’ I love those lyrics because they basically describe the way how I feel about DRIPPIN! Because whenever I felt down or was going through hardships they always helped me feel better again! Are there any words from the members you would like to share? Actually, the members say a lot of meaningful things so my friend made the Twitter hashtag #예쁜말만하는_우리핀 so DREAMINs can post and collect all of the heartfelt words the members have said!

I recently bought a jacket that JunHo wears a lot and it’s actually one of my favorite clothing items now! What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now? I was featured as a hangout guest on DRIPPIN’s first ever ASC (“After School Club”) episode and I’ve met them through videocall fansign events twice this year! What is a random fact that you think people don’t know about them? Most of DRIPPIN have really interesting casting stories! For example JunHo got casted while he was applying for a school in Seoul, the casting staff saw him entering the school and gave their contact information to his sister and then waited for JunHo for over 10 hours! Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why. I would love to see JunHo or any other DRIPPIN member on “King of Mask Singer”! I think they would get a lot of praise for their vocals. Name 1 quality in your bias that you wish you had. His face! He’s so pretty it’s kinda unfair to be honest. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? It’s not just DRIPPIN in particular, but I think that a lot of non-fans see sales, streams and fame as an equal for talent or quality of the music etc. nowadays. So since DRIPPIN is not the most popular group I feel like their talent and music is overlooked by a lot of K-Pop fans or people might assume that because they’re not famous their music or overall group quality must be bad. But those people are not considering the circumstances that DRIPPIN debuted under such as debuting during a pandemic, their company not being one of the top 3 etc. I wish everyone would just give them a chance because they definitely won’t regret it! You can also add a message/letter to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook. Hey JunHo! I’ve been your fan for 3 years now and I’m so proud of how far you’ve come in such little time. Whenever I watch your fancams and covers I’m amazed by how much you’ve improved! I think you’re one of the most well-rounded idols in K-Pop since you not only have developed excellent singing and dancing skills but you also have a really great personality. I’m forever thankful for you and DRIPPIN, you mean the world to me and I’ll always support you! Thank you for never giving up and always staying true to yourself and I promise I’ll do my very best to make you famous!! I hope that one day I can see you perform in person!
